OBJECTIVE

Ravenstone was established to provide health information management record development education as an independent course of study. This interactive online course is designed to provide a method of learning where applicants who have successfully mastered their course of study, may compete with other select candidates for a paid internship with Express Document Service, Inc.   Paid Internship with Express Document Service, Inc. is not guaranteed and is determined by available open positions at the time of student completion. Ravenstone's goal is to work closely with all applicants to achieve mastery in the areas of medical transcription, ICD-9 Coding, CPT and/or Office Billing and management skills, allotting successful candidates proficiency skills and confidence to become American Association of Medical Transcriptionists (AAMT) or CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P certified.

  

MISSION STATEMENT

 

The mission of Ravenstone HIMS is to provide applicants personalized counseling, monitorship and experienced-based competencies in combination  with a solid, fundamental core curriculum in Health Information Management methods, i.e., medical transcription, medical billing, ICD-9 Coding, CPT training.   Working with medical facilities, we understand the importance of physician/ hospital/clinic/legal issues, and hence we are committed to staying abreast of current Federal, state and insurance regulations and/or changes in this regard. We will strive to provide our on-line applicants educational fundamentals that when satisfactorily completed, insure their future career success and in preparation for certification testing. Our staff is committed to training methods that improve accuracy of all documentation – to prevent risk and insure safety to the patient, the physicians, and the facilities involved.  Our belief is that business should be conducted honestly and ethically, allowing for optimum benefits for all parties. Effective communication is the cornerstone of this business. We are dedicated to achieving these goals.

 

ADMISSION

 

Ravenstone admits applications without regard to race, religion, sex, age, color, national origin, physical disability, place or residence. We admit anyone meeting the admissions standards, which are but not limited to:

1.   High school graduate or GED

      equivalency

2.   Good typing ability. 

3.   Good English written communication

      skills

4.   Completed enrollment agreement with

       required payment.

 

Admission is accepted on a “rolling basis” and as this is an independent study course, there is no course calendar, except closures for Federal Holidays.

    METHODOLOGY OF COURSE STUDY

This course is an independent, on-line, distance learning study course.  This approach requires sincere commitment and determination from the applicant, in addition to evaluation and monitorship by Ravenstone staff to make this course of study successful.  Each course includes written lessons and instructions with clear direction of each assignment.  Demonstration of mastery is accomplished through successful completion of tested materials from elements of self-study and self-evaluation, with the assistance of Ravenstone staff evaluation. Correction, additional instruction and constructive criticism will be the standard of measurement to assess applicant progress, as well as, usual test taking pass/fail measures. Self-study will not progress to subsequent units or chapters until proficiency level skills are mastered and discussed to the satisfaction of Ravenstone's staff.

 

ENROLLMENT AND LEAVE OF ABSENCE

 

Enrollment is ongoing.  Self-study proceeds at personal set pace.  Self-study beyond 18 months is deemed excessive and exhibits a lack of intent on the part of the applicant/participant. Discussion between staff and applicant will be carried out to evaluate participation and determine if extended support and monitorship is to be continued. No monitorship will be continued beyond a period of 18 months without additional charge, regardless of circumstances

 

  

 REFUND POLICY

 

 Participants in this independent course of study may withdraw at any time by submitting a written request for cancellation.  Fees are non refundable after three-day cancellation period. Three day cancellation period:  All fees paid by the applicant will be refunded within Three calendar days after enrollment.  Additionally, fees by candidates who have been disqualified at the time of enrollment will be refunded.

 

CONTRACT TERMINATION

 

Applicants may be terminated without refund or recourse  for:

1.   Failure to demonstrate reasonable (less than six

       months on any one chapter/lesson) and successful  

       progress in mastering basic knowledge.

2.    Plagiarism or falsification of documents.

3.    Failure to submit assignments in accordance with 

       specified standards.

4.    False statements made to staff regarding any

        issues.

5.    Failure to maintain payment agreement.

     

       TUITION

     Applicant agrees to the No refund policy after three days as outlined. Applicant agrees they have read this agreement and are of legal age for their State. Applicant agrees any court action necessary to enforce complete and total payment of tuition fees, that Express Document Service, Inc., DBA Ravenstone HIMS hall be entitled to reasonable attorney fees, costs and expenses in addtion to any other relief to which Ravenstone may be entitled.
